Murtoa is 300 kilometres northwest of Melbourne and 30 kilometres from the regional city of Horsham. Our students come from the small surrounding towns of Rupanyup, Glenorchy and Minyip. Students also travel from Horsham.

Murtoa College was formed by the amalgamation of Murtoa Primary School and Murtoa Secondary College in 2003. The College has around 300 students, with combined primary classes and at least two classes in each year level in our secondary section.

Our College has beautiful grounds featuring mosaics and garden areas that our students have designed and maintain. Our large site features many innovations including drought-tolerant gardens which have won statewide recognition, mosaics which reflect the college values, a wind generator that has the capacity to power the whole school and environmentally-conscious buildings.

Enrolments

We welcome new enrolments at any time of the year. Phone or email us to make an appointment for a tour. Alternatively, you can check out our page dedicated to enrolment information and a virtual tour.

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2020 onwards.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
