Students of the Week – Back: Anai, Finley, Mikaela, Tyler, Felicity and Archie. Front: Tyler and Ebony.

Last Friday we held another successful Year 2/3 Sleepover and F/1 Dinner under some trying circumstances. Like many in the community, we lost power during the evening which interrupted our final activity before ‘bed time’. However, the students responded positively and supported each other through the electrical storm. A special thanks must go to Mrs Venn for coordinating the evening and ensuring the students where entertained throughout their stay. We would also like to thank Mrs Kelly and Sheryl Jordan for sleeping over, Mrs Noonan, Miss Barratt and Mrs Wilson for assisting with afternoon activities, and Leanne Dingwall and Ms Boehm for their input too. It has been a very positive addition to the Murtoa College camps program. Continue reading “Foundation – Year 6 News”

Premier’s Reading Challenge 2016

Premier’s Reading Challenge 2016We are now half way through the Premier’s Reading Challenge. It’s still not too late to enter, and it is an impressive inclusion to have on your resume. (It shows that you are literate and can set yourself goals, though some just do it for the luncheon I provide at the end of the Challenge!)

There are a number of students that are so close to finishing – needing to read a couple of books from the Challenge list.

For information on the Challenge visit the website http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/events/prc/Pages/default.aspx

To register, please see Mrs Reading in the library.

Congratulations to Mason Harris, year 4, who has finished the Challenge! Continue reading “Premier’s Reading Challenge 2016”
